Song of The Aurora - Solo show at Galería Hilario Galguera, Mexico City
Galería Hilario Galguera is proud to present Austrian artist Gottfried Helnwein’s exhibit The Song of the Aurora, opening on October 17th, 2012 at 12:00 hrs.
Helnwein generates provocative works that speak about childhood, innocence, destruction, trauma and the human condition. The Song of the Aurora exhibition contains pieces of some of his most emblematic series: The Murmur of the Innocents, Annunciation, and The Child Dreams.
Simultaneously to the exhibition at the Hilario Galguera gallery, Helnwein will show a retrospective spanning four decades of production in the National Museum of San Carlos in Mexico City. There will also be a public installation of monumental photographic works at Plaza de la República, as well as a show of small formats in Paseo Cimentación, a gallery located in the Monumento a la Revolución foundations (Floor -1). This marks the start of a series of cultural activities entitled REvoluciónArte inside this iconic building. Both exhibits are the result of Susan Crowley’s curatorial initiative.
The Song of the Aurora exhibition will remain open from October 18 to January 5, 2013.
From Monday through Friday from 10:30 to 17:30 hrs.
Saturdays open only with previous appointment.
